Employee Offboarding

A good employee offboarding process is important to keep the company safe and running smoothly. It helps make sure that the employee’s access to systems is removed and their tasks are handed over properly. Offboarding also ensures the company follows legal rules and protects its assets. When done well, it leaves a positive impression on the employee, which can lead to future opportunities or a good reputation for the company.

The offboarding feature in Papershift Pulse works very similar to how onboardings work, which is why we are only outlining the differences here. For more details, please check the guide about employee-onboarding.

Where do I find the feature?

You can access the offboarding feature from the main navigation on the left side of the screen. Look for the “Offboarding” navigation item. If you cannot see it, it means you do not have the necessary permissions to access this feature, as it is typically restricted to HR personnel.

Differences to Onboardings

  • Rights: Onboardings and offboardings come with individual sets of rights so although they work very similar you keep fine-grained control over who can access what.
  • Employee View: Other than onboardings, there is no extra menu-item visible in their profile for the employee while being offboarded.
  • Running Offboarding: Contains a field for the last day, compared to the first day on onboardings.

FAQ

No, an employee does not see that they are being offboarded. This allows HR or management to communicate the offboarding process thoughtfully and professionally.
